Peinture à l'envers

Un exercice courant dans la plupart des cours d'art est la pratique du dessin/peinture à l'envers. De cette façon votre esprit sépare ce qu'il pense qu'il voit de ce qu'il voit réellement. Il mettra ainsi beaucoup mieux l'accent sur la forme, la valeur et la couleur. 

Upside down painting

A common drawing exercise in most art courses is to practice drawing/painting upside down.  This is done so your mind separates itself from seeing what it thinks it sees to what it actually does see, thus focusing better on shape, value, and colour.

Dada est né de la réaction négative aux horreurs de la première guerre mondiale, Ce mouvement international a été entrepris par un groupe d'artistes et de poètes associés au Cabaret Voltaire à Zurich en suisse en 1916, se propageant plus tard à Berlin.

Dada rejetait la raison et la logique, prisant l'absurde, l'irrationnel et l'intuition.

Le mouvement impliqué principalement les arts visuels, de la littérature, de la poésie, des manifestes d'art, la théorie de l'art, le théâtre et le design graphique, et a concentré sa politique anti-guerre avec le rejet total des normes en vigueur dans l'art par le biais anti-art des œuvres culturelles.

En plus d'être anti-guerre, Dada était aussi anti-bourgeois et avait des affinités politiques avec la gauche radicale.

Notre mission cette semaine à l'Atelier était de créer un collage basé sur le texte Karawane (Hugo Ball).

Dadaism was an art movement of the European avant-garde in the early 20th century. It began in Zurich, Switzerland in 1916, spreading to Berlin. 

Dada was born out of negative reaction to the horrors of World War I. This international movement was begun by a group of artists and poets associated with the Cabaret Voltaire in Zurich.

Dada rejected reason and logic, prizing nonsense, irrationality and intuition.  

The movement primarily involved visual arts, literature, poetry, art manifestoes, art theory, theatre, and graphic design, and concentrated its anti-war politics through a rejection of the prevailing standards in art through anti-art cultural works.

In addition to being anti-war, Dada was also anti-bourgeois and had political affinities with the radical left.

This week's assignment from the Atelier was to create a collage based on the Karawane text (Hugo Ball).
